·         Earned a career-high two wins, including the season’s most prestigious event (Indianapolis). The Gatornationals Johnson won in March

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

2004: Earned first career win (St. Louis); Set career-best elapsed time

2003: Recorded career-best numbers in time and speed

2002: Finished in the top 10 in the Pro Stock Motorcycle standings for the eighth consecutive season

2001: Made sixth final round appearance against Matt Hines. Holley dominator Duel finalist at Indy

2000: Signed a multi-year deal with K&N Filters. Made special Drag Racing Commercial

1999: First year racing as a hired rider.  Team owner burnt bike to the ground testing four days before the US Nationals.  Johnson built a bike and continued season on his own. Still finished in top 10

1998: Won the NHRA Good Hand Award. Lost best friend and teammate John Myers in an off track accident. Organized at the time the biggest fund raiser inside the NHRA for a professional drivers family

1997: 10th year on tour Finished Eight in NHRA series. Made a career-high three final round appearances en route to a career-best 20-12 record in elimination rounds; Won the AMA Rebel Nationals, finishing third in the series; Awarded the AMA Hazel Cobb Award for the racer who best promotes the sport

1996: Brought crystal ball essay school program to NHRA while entering student in his pit area.

1995: Qualified #one for the first time, finished #3 in NHRA. One first AMA Prostar race and finished third.  First final round appearance, Virginia, lost to Dave Schultz. First time to break in to the 180mph zone

1994: Raced entire finished 13th while stopping at least 1 school per event to talk to students about clean living.

1993: Qualified again for the Wax Shop Dash. Finished. First 11th.

1992: Major switch moving to campaign a Suzuki GSXR. Out side the top ten all year and in the last race of the year won first round moving him to 10th.

1991: Won the 16-bike race at Fuji International track in Japan; Runner-up in Wax Shop Dash Pro Bike event. Finished in top Five for the first time in career. Voted as one of three finalists in the first time ever to be included in Car craft Magazine’s all-star drag team

1990: Finished number Seven in NHRA/Winston series. Brought Slick 50 and NHRA together for the 300mph club, National event title rights sponsorship, and signed the classes first out side the industry sponsor to a major three-year deal. Broke into the 170mph barrier

1989: Member of the first USA Drag Festival in Japan. Two time Pro stock bike National Champion of Drag Bike USA

1988: Campaigned a Suzuki and a Kawasaki.  First full year on the road traveling the NHRA circuit.

1987: Began career with NHRA even after losing his rig. Pitted out of a shipping crate and went two rounds at the Summer Nationals.  Drag Bike USA National Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion.  Finished number 10 in NHRA.
